Mission & Scientific Aims

Mission:

Providing professional, technical, managerial and research skills and abilities that serve the community through the high quality technical and engineering education, which provided by the Department of Electrical Power Technology for students. It also aims at the Department of Power Technologies to prepare and graduate engineering cadres distinguished and able to compete locally and internationally, by providing outstanding scientific research that serves the community and contribute to the development of local society.

Scientific aims:

Graduating a distinguished engineering cadre that can accomplish the work and interaction with the other engineering colleagues as one team by providing the necessary expertise in the fields of science and communication skills throughout the world. The department aims to create distinctive educational programs that can be summarized as follows:

1- Engineering is the applied science for the fields of knowledge in mathematics and the natural sciences acquired in the study. Therefore, the student is prepared to be equipped with scientific and engineering technology so that he has extensive experience in the practice and application of engineering sciences, mathematics and natural sciences for optimal economic exploitation of natural materials in order to provide optimum services to society.

2- Engineering is concerned with the practical application of theoretical engineering sciences in laboratories, industries and all practical fields in society. Accordingly, engineers are equipped with a strong scientific background to track progress and development in all areas of electrical engineering such as electrical power engineering, communications engineering, electronics, or computer systems engineering.

3- Making the right decisions requires a person who is scientifically distinguished with knowledge of the different sciences so that he can make the right decision, which serve the work in the optimal way. Therefore, the programs of the Department of Electrical Power Technologies aims to develop the abilities of students in such a way that they can make the right decision and solve all the problems facing the work of the Engineer. In addition to, taking into account all aspects of environmental, ethical and social as well as taking the technical aspects into account.

4- The programs of the Department of Electrical Power Engineering are interested in preparing the student for continuing education and study throughout his career so that the student can act as an important part of the work team in his professional life.

5- The program attempts to provide students with extensive scientific experience and professional skills in electrical power engineering techniques.

6- The program seeks to develop students to be capable of solving complex questions covering a wide range of practical interests in electrical engineering.

7- The program aims to prepare the student to be familiar with the principles of operating systems, system design and operating problems.

8- Re-engineering the scientific issues that facing the engineer and solving requirements. Where the correct and specific scientific procedures must be followed in order to solve the problem properly. As well as, the defense of the decisions taken by the Engineer.

9- Conduct scientific research, studies and provide consultancy services in all fields of electrical engineering, which are directly related to the needs of the community through the scientific program offered by the Department of Electrical Power Technologies, which plays a vital role in scientific and technical developments.

10- Preparation of scientific and engineering cadres with high qualifications in terms of training, precise specialization and practical application of electrical engineering sciences. Through the programs provided by the Department of Electrical Power Engineering Techniques in all fields. Especially, the establishment of graduate programs at the master’s and doctorate levels in line with the requirements of the labor market and the society.

The Department of Electrical Power Technology Engineering aims at qualifying graduates so that they can communicate, collaborate, work as a team and interact with fellow graduates of other colleges.
